FAQ
In this section you can find frequently asked questions regarding the event. If your question is not answered here, you are welcome to email us at info@harbourhop.nl for general queries and registration@harbourhop.nl for registration-related questions.
I’m a beginner. How is Harbour Hop different from a regular social?
Harbour Hop is a three-day festival in Rotterdam, with a few-hundred dancers coming together to dance, learn, play and be part of our loving community. During the days you get to meet your fellow dancers during multiple hours of workshops by top-tier teachers from abroad, and each night you get to dance away to our live-bands music. You get to ‘eat-breathe-sleep’ swing dancing and see yourself develop in a blink of an eye.
Feel a little intimidated as a beginner? No worries, the programme caterers to all levels. You can already join this festival if you have half a year of experience or more. Find your level in the descriptions of the Tracks and Passes page. Have any doubts? Ask your teacher or write to: info@harbourhop.nl
I’ve been dancing for years and want to compete or perform. Do you have competitions or performances I can join?
We are not organising competitions this year, but have a moment for performances on Saturday night. We always love it when the community comes together and initiates these kinds of celebrations of swing dance. If you want to showcase a solo, duet, group, burlesque… anything goes! Be sure to let us know : info@harbourhop.nl
I need hosting. Is there something available?
Are you travelling from lands far far away? Our generous local community has offered their guest-bedrooms and couches for those who need a place to stay. It’s also a great way to make new friends, discover the city and get more out of the festival.
I have a ticket but I need to cancel. Is that possible?
Please check our Terms & Conditions for information regarding ticket cancellation.
I want extra lessons from the teachers. How do I arrange privates during the festival?
If you are interested in taking a private lesson, please speak directly to the teacher in question; it is a private arrangement.
The festival is getting near. How do I stay up-to-date?
All last-minute news will be published on our Instagram and Facebook pages and on this website. Approximately a week before the event you will receive final updates regarding the programme and venues via email.
I would like to contribute to the community. How can I volunteer?
As you might know, volunteers make Harbour Hop the wonderful event that it is. Every year during the event we need your support and dedication. If you would like to help with build-up of parties, clean-up after parties or workshops, setting up sound systems, registration at parties or workshops, driving or anything else, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out via info@harbourhop.nl and we will get in touch with you!
I have a suggestion/problem/compliment regarding the event. Who do I contact?
You are welcome to contact one of the care team members during the event or you can email us at info@harbourhop.nl
